Mary Glasgow

July 18, 1950 — November 17, 2023

Funeral Mass at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Walters, OK on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Raymond K. Ackerman officiating with interment in the Walters Cemetery. A Wake with Rosary will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, on Monday the 20th at 7:00 p.m.

Mary Margaret (Flanagan) Glasgow was born to Funston Pershing and Frances Rita (Novotny) Flanagan on July 18, 1950 in Walters and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on November 17, 2023 at the age of 73.

Mary grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1968. She soon married Randy Lee Glasgow on November 16, 1968 in Walters and to the union 2 children, Joel and Stephanie were born. They made their home in Walters for and time and she worked at the elementary school. They moved to Lawton and Mary eventually went to work for CGI, a government contractor. The couple returned to Walters in 2005 and she stayed with CGI until retiring in 2014.

Mary was parishioner of Saint Patrick Catholic Church and was active with Saint Patrick Women’s Solidarity group. She also served on the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed making hand-made tea towels, organizing picture albums for her immediate family, and was taking piano lessons to relearn to play. Following God’s teachings and attending Church were very important to Mary. She loved people, loved her siblings and family, loved to laugh, and we loved to laugh at her stubbornness. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Funston and Frances Flanagan; her husband, Randy Glasgow in 2018; her son, Joel Glasgow in 2021; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Carr; and a sister, Patricia Flanagan.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Shawn Carr of Yukon, OK; her beloved twin granddaughters, Brooke Carr and Brittany Carr both of Yukon; 3 sisters, Kathleen Flanagan of Walters, Alice Loftin of San Antonio, TX and Janis Flanagan Darley of Yukon; 2 brothers, Mike Flanagan and Sherri, Mark Flanagan and Mechelle all of Walters; her mother-in-law, Lois Glasgow of Temple; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
