Nancy Lou (Brackeen) Orlando was born to Silas Buster Brackeen and Doris Rowena (Manes) Brackeen on November 13, 1941 in Wichita Falls, TX and departed this life in Lawton, OK on April 23, 2026 at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 10 days.
Nancy grew up in New Mexico, graduating from Farmington High School. She left home immediately to work for the FBI in Washington, DC. She married Raymond Hale and had 2 children before moving to Las Vegas, NV, where she worked for the Department of Motor Vehicle, State of Nevada, for 20 years. She Married Donald Orlando and moved to Temple, OK to be near her mother.
Nancy enjoyed being retired. She loved to read books of Sharon Sala, Diana Palmer and Linda Lael Miller, but was especially fond of reading Sharon Sala. She enjoyed cooking and was a good cook. She was known for her crabcakes which she learned to cook while living at Ocean City, MD. Most recently she became fond of Dr. Pepper and chocolate.
She was preceded in death by her father, Buster Brackeen; her mother and stepfather, Doris and Amos Lewis; her brothers, Terry Brackeen and Jimmy Brackeen; and her granddaughter, Codi Bystedt.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Don Orlando; 2 kids, Julia Bystedt of Temple, OK and Shawn Hale of Maryland; 2 stepsons, Allen Orlando of Oregon and Allack Orlando of Las Vegas; other relatives and friends.
