Olin Wayne Harris

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Temple City Hall, Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.

Olin Wayne “Buddy” Harris was born to Olin Lando “Bob” and Annie Marie (Shelton) Harris on May 19, 1956 in Grand Saline, TX and departed this life at his home in Temple, OK on November 17, 2025 at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 29 days.

Buddy grew up in Grand Saline until coming to Temple, OK in his early teens. He married Penny Irean Turner on December 20, 1981 in Temple. But for a year in Madill, the couple made their home in Temple where they raised 3 daughters. He was a Jack of all trades, working as a mechanic, plumber, sewage plant, piping, farming, and construction.

Buddy loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, giving people a hard time, going fishing and hanging out with the grandkids. He really enjoyed working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob Harris and Annie Whitehead; an infant brother; and 2 sisters, Vida Elaine Isaac, and Charlotte Julie McCraw.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Harris of the home; 3 daughters, Bobbie Chumley and Brian of Temple, Robin Crow and Roger of Temple, Penny Elliott Keith of Randlett; a sister, Leda Copeland of Temple; 2 brothers, Billy Harris and Donetta of Temple, Ricky Harris and Lisa of Kingston; 6 grandchildren, Jaramiah Chumley, Jacob Chumley, Jaxx Chumley, Cordell Crow, Travis Elliott and Ethan Elliott; 3 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
