Pamela Ruth Smith passed on to the presence of the Lord Jesus on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born July 9, 1950 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Pamela was the daughter of J.C. Smith Jr. and Ruth (Kindred) Smith.

At two years of age Pamela was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Being challenged physically all her life she rose to the task of being as independent and self-reliant as she could. She graduated high school in Oklahoma City and despite her physical limitations had a sharp mind and was the family's “memory keeper.” Her parents purposed to always include her in every activity the family did. While living she would frequently declare that one day in Heaven, she would run like all the rest of us. That body that would not obey her in this life would one day be healed and she would be free like all the rest of us. She taught herself computer skills that amazed us all and once the iPad was introduced, she stayed in touch with all the family and friends with text messaging.

Pamela was a member of Travis Ave Baptist Church and a member of the Sanctuary Class. She lived the last year and a half at Advent Nursing and Health Center in Burleson, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

She is survived by brother Jim Smith and wife Beverly, sister Marsha Andres, brother Jay Smith and wife Karen, and sister Lorri Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews - Tiffany Zumwalt, Sergio Smith, Jennifer Martin, Hanna Measley, Clint Smith, Karalee Smith, Ashley Mitchell, and Addison Andres, and many grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
