Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Temple, OK, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Brad Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.
Pamela Yvonne (Henning) Thompson was born to Billy Bob and Constance Mae (Hampton) Henning on May 21, 1953, in Edmond, OK, and departed this life in Comanche, OK, on November 22, 2025, at the age of 72.
Pam grew up in Edmond, Guthrie, and Spencer, OK, with a brief time in Hobbs, NM, before the family settled in Waurika, OK. She graduated from Waurika High School in 1971. After high school she married Dan Brandon, and to the union, a son Eric was born. Pam maintained a loving relationship with the Brandon family throughout her life.
On July 17, 1975, Pam married Guerry Thompson. To the union, two children were born: a daughter, Lori, and later a son, Dillon “Bubba”. Pam and Guerry made their home in Temple. During this time, Pam cared for many children in the community and worked at Haggars in the 1980s. Pam finished her career in a support staff position at Temple Public Schools. After Guerry preceded her in death in 2010, Pam continued living in Temple and spending time with her grandchildren. In 2018 Pam reconnected with an old friend Mike Phelps, that would become her loving partner for 7 years.
Pam was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Cookietown. She was a proud OU fan, loved fishing, and was known for always worrying about everyone she loved. She was also the family “weather woman,” always keeping everyone informed and prepared. Above all, she was deeply family oriented and cherished every moment spent with her grandkids. She also took great pride in keeping her home spotless.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob Henning and Connie Garvin; her husband, Guerry Thompson; her brothers, Mike and John Henning; and her sister, Janice Cole.
Survivors include: her partner, Mike Phelps of Comanche, OK; her 3 kids, Eric Brandon of Waurika, OK, and his girlfriend Jeri Smart, Lori Wilburn and husband David of Gordon, GA, Dillon Thompson and wife Kayla of Temple, OK. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kolton Wilburn and Cooper Wilburn; three brothers, Danny Henning and wife Marlynn of Burns, TN, Scott Henning of Temple, and David Garvin of Prairie Grove, AR; her brother-in-law, Glendel Cole of Randlett, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
