Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Gary Neighbors officiating. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.
Penny Ola (Cunningham) McCoin was born in Chickasha, OK on December 23, 1964, and departed this life at her farm in Chattanooga, OK on October 3, 2026, at the age of 61 years, 9 months, and 10 days.
Growing up near Norge, Penny went to Jane Brooks School for the Deaf, located in Chickasha, OK, where she learned to speak and read lips. She later graduated from Verden High School in 1984 and then attended USAO for photography. She worked at Canadian Valley Vo-Tech and at Wendy’s while dating Terry Dewayne McCoin. They married on September 19, 1986, in Chickasha, making their home near Lake Burtschi. When Terry enlisted in the U.S. Army, the couple moved to Schofield Barracks on Oahu, HI for 5 years before returning to Oklahoma. For the past 15 years they have lived southeast of Chattanooga, starting TP McCoin Farm and raising cattle, goats, and sheep. Throughout her life Penny overcame all of life’s challenges with perseverance and trust in God. She truly changed the atmosphere as she entered a room; bringing her own creativity and life to situations. Penny enjoyed crafts and going to craft shows, sewing and making all sorts of things. She was a biblical wife who was focused on her family and loved her kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Mary Alexander and Theresa Wood, and sister-in-law, Karen Cunningham, whom she loved as a sister. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Terry McCoin, as well as 5 children; Carollyne Killackey and husband, Anthony, of Havelock, NC; Patricia Richardson and husband, Philip, of Havelock, NC; Rodrey McCoin and wife, Jessica, of Chattanooga, OK; Mary McCoin and husband, Yair Simonson, of Newton, MA; and Owyn McCoin, of Chattanooga, OK; 2 brothers, Denny Cunningham and Dean Cunningham and 7 grandchildren, with one more on the way.
