Funeral services 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Indiahoma School Auditorium with Kirk Givens officiating and obituary by Scott Patton. Burial will follow at the Bussey Family Cemetery with words of committal by Les Banks. Viewing on Friday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK.

Preston was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on August 18, 1970, to Patricia Ruth Thomason and Ronald Barker. Preston passed away in Ardmore, Oklahoma on September 16, 2025, at the age of 55. He grew up in Cache, Oklahoma and graduated from Cache Public School in 1988.

Preston married Carrie Bussey on May 24, 1997, in Lawton, Oklahoma. They were blessed with a son, Trace, and a daughter, Landree, who were both the center of his world. Preston's family was everything to him. He always worked hard to provide them with everything they needed or wanted. Preston was a Christian and a member of the Indiahoma Church of Christ.

After graduation, Preston worked at Gibson's Discount Center as a sales associate in the automotive and sporting goods sections. He was known for his expertise in stereo systems. Preston later began his 35-year career at CL Boyd on July 31, 1990, as a parts advisor. Over the course of his career, he held numerous positions at CL Boyd in Lawton including Parts Manager, Customer Service Advisor, Branch Manager, and most recently the Regional Branch Manager for both the Lawton and Ardmore stores.

Preston loved being outdoors. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends, and especially Trace. Preston always liked to work on vehicles, and he had an admiration for classic cars and pickups. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Preston loved being around his family and friends. He always looked forward to supporting his children in all their extracurricular activities. He enjoyed going to and watching OU football and Thunder basketball games with his family. Preston had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He loved helping others no matter what the project, whether it be using his mechanical skills, building things, or fulfilling honey do lists he was always up for the challenge. Preston was a selfless man and truly enjoyed making other people happy.

Preston is survived by his wife Carrie, son Trace, daughter Landree, "Bonus" daughter Kyla Wilson, father Ronnie Barker, mother in-law Bobbie Bussey, brother Justin Thomason and wife Sasha, sister in-law Vicki Thomason, sister in-law Lesa Lafferty and husband Bob, nephews Buddy, Cody, and Will Thomason and Chase Lafferty, nieces Amanda (Thomason) Paulus, Casey Thomason, and Lauren Lafferty, special cousins Royce and Brady Roach, and numerous great nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Preston was preceded in death by his mother Patricia (Dupler) Thomason, his brother Frankie, his sister Lori, and his father in-law Tommy Bussey.
