Ronald "Ron" Morse

Funeral Services at Church of the Nazarene, Walters, OK, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Paul Metcalfe officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Ronald Gene Morse was born to Lonnie Joe and Bobbie Nell (Durbin) Morse on September 30, 1951 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on March 27, 2022 at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 27 days.

Ron grew up with his dad in the Military, so Walters was home anytime dad was in Korea, otherwise growing up in Fort Hood/Houston, TX area attending Bellaire High School. He married Janie Luciano in 1970 and to the union 2 daughters, Rhonda and Renee were born.

Ron served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1971-1972 and later from 1979-1981 with time spent in Germany. He married Nancy Allen in 1982 and to the union a daughter, Kacie was born, making Walters their home.

He had served as an MP in the Army, and later in his 40’s, with his mind set on a career in law enforcement, Ron attended Cameron University. He received his Associated in Law Enforcement and eventually his Bachelors in Criminal Justice in 1999. Ron then served as an officer and instructor in several towns and as Chief of Police in several towns as well.

He had served as President of the Cameron University Criminal Justice Association. He was a member of Walters Church of the Nazarene. Teaching the Bible at the DOC was an opportunity he always cherished. He enjoyed fishing and shooting.

Ron was preceded in death by dad, Lonnie J. Morse in 1985; his mom, Bobbie Nell Morse in 1994; his grandfather, William D. Durbin in 1963; and his grandmother, Davilla Durbin in 1986.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Kacie (Morse) Renick of Walters, Rhonda and Renee of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Kojii Hunter of Walters; his brother, Jerry P. Morse of Walters; his aunt, Judy Fain of Texas; several cousins and friends.
