Roy Daniel Miller

Funeral Service at Antioch Baptist Church, Lawton, OK on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Vivian Garza officiating with burial in the Cache Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral home in Walters.

Roy Daniel Miller was born March 10, 1943 on a farm north of Cache, OK to Henry Clay Miller and Mary Minnie Lee (Early) Miller and departed this life in Lawton, OK on January 23, 2024 at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 13 days.

Roy grew up in Cache, graduating from Lawton High in 1961. Two days later on June 1, 1961, he married Linda Pearl Martin at Southside Baptist Church in Lawton. They moved to Pueblo, CO where he went to Railroad school. From there they went to Chester, IL and then onto St. Louis before returning home to help his dad farm. 

Roy and Linda made a life of farming south of Lawton and also raised Parakeets together for 20 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member Antioch Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, music and dancing. Raising Parakeets was a joy to him rather than a job. He loved pestering the grandkids, and calling people George. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Minnie Lee Miller; 10 siblings, Margaret Drew, Woodrow Miller, Katherine Chance, Lucille Clay, Mae Schlachtun, Mary Fort, Neva Horn, Herman Wright, Jessie Miller and Juanita Money.

Survivors include his wife Linda of the home, 2 daughters, Cheryl Crow and Scott of Geronimo, OK and Susan McClung and Danny of Elgin, OK; 2 sisters, Betty Thaler of Lebanon, TN, Barbara Burk and Larry, of Lawton, OK; 6 grandchildren, Daniel McClung and Dolores of Walters, Emery Crow and Hailey of Geronimo, Jeri Fox and Paul of Fletcher, Shelby Johnson and Zach of Geronimo, Katelin Mangum and Tyler of Elgin, and Allison McClung of Shinkamigoto, Japan; 12 great grandchildren, Madison, Isabella, Aurora, Brina, Layla, Charlie, Riley, Gavin, Harlin, Ellie, Harley, and Harper; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Donations can be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
