Funeral Services at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Union Valley Baptist Church, Cookietown, OK, Cecil Boydston and Arbuary Ritter officiating with burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Randlett, OK. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Shirley LaRue (Anderson) Martin was born March 2, 1947 in Walters, OK and departed this life on June 9, 2022 in Wichita Falls, TX at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 7 days.

Shirley grew up in Cookietown and attended Union Valley and Big Pasture Schools graduating in 1965. She then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, graduating in May of 1969. She married Larry Dale Martin on May 26, 1967 in Cookietown. She worked as a substitute Teacher and worked at JCPenneys through the years, making their home in various places including Lumberton, TX, Duncan, OK and Cookietown, OK.

She was an active member of Union Valley Baptist Church, Cookietown. She loved attending her grandkids activities, was a supporter of Big Pasture sports and an avid OU Fan. Shirley enjoyed sewing and working with Larry on their yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Neva Anderson, and her 4 brothers, Edwin, Doyle, Max and Travis Anderson

She is survived by her husband, Larry Martin of the home; 4 kids and their spouses, Casey and Christy Martin of Perkins, OK, Lance and Jessie Martin, Brandi and Cecil Boydston, and Julie and Curtis Arnold of Cookietown, OK; 9 Grandchildren, McKenzie and Austin Shirm of Stillwater, OK, Caleb and Kara Boydston of Moore, OK, Brandon Martin of Perkins, OK, Paige Martin of Norman, OK, Lance Darrin Martin of Cookietown, OK, Conner Boydston of Weatherford, OK, Baily Boydston, Makala Boydston and Ian Boydston all of Cookietown, OK; her sisters-in-law, Velda Anderson of Randlett, OK, Sharon Martin of Elmore City, OK, and Wilda Musick of Empire, OK; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
