Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, Monday, October 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Kevin Simpson officiating, assisted by Rev. Brad Spurlock. Interment in Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home. Viewing Saturday, 9am to 8 pm and Sunday, 2-8pm.
Teena Ann (Blackburn) Anderson was born December 28, 1941, in Clovis, NM, to John William and Ella Mae (Askins) Blackburn and departed this life in Temple, OK on October 6, 2026, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 8 days.
Teena's parents had moved to Portales, NM to farm and teach school. They decided to return to Oklahoma, so Teena attended 1st grade in Lawton and the family bought a farm east of Temple, and she attended 2nd through 8th grade in Temple. They moved to a farm east of Walters and she finished school in Walters, graduating in 1959. She attended a couple of years of college before marrying Charles Harold Anderson on June 4, 1961 at FBC Walters on a Sunday morning.
They have made their home east of Walters since 1962. Teena assisted with Head-Start and worked at the bowling alley for a time before working at the Cotton County Extension office and then moved to the County Clerks office where she worked 20 years, retiring in 2003.
Teena was all about family and church. She was an active member of First Baptist Church. She was the church clerk, taught Sunday school, was a money counter, cooked and worked funeral dinners, helped with the clothes closet and did church visits. She enjoyed family outings, camping and adventures. She enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Nova Scotia, Mexico, Colorado and New Mexico. She loved keeping her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed playing Bridge, crocheting, quilting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She cooked quail and any other wild game Charles drug home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Mae Blackburn; and her husband, Charles Anderson in 2025.
She is survived by 2 sons, Harold Anderson and wife Kristi of Lawton, and John Anderson and wife Eugenia of Walters; 3 grandchildren, Krystal Stores and husband Justin of Lawton OK, Dalas Anderson and wife Cindy of Walters, and Dakota Anderson and fiancé Sidney of Dallas, Texas; 6 great grandchildren, Chloe Stores, Beckett Stores, Addi Anderson, Grey Jackson, Knox Anderson & Ella Sage Anderson; her sister, Peggy McCoy of Hot Springs, AR; a nephew, Adam Fuller and Kirstie of New Zealand and their sons, Andre and Eddie; 2 sisters-in-law, Marie and husband Bill Mills of Edmond OK and Margaret Anderson of Sulphur, OK; other relatives and friends.
