Thomas Franklin Kerr

September 14, 1937 — March 10, 2024

Thomas Franklin Kerr was born to Thomas Jefferson and Lorene (Welch) Kerr on September 14, 1937 near Randlett, Oklahoma. Frank departed this world for his heavenly home on March 10, 2024 in Lewisville, Texas.

Frank grew up in Cotton County, and attended Walters Schools, where he was active with the Vo-Ag Dept, playing sports to include football for the Blue Devils. Shortly after high school, Frank moved to Fort Worth area with his brother Phil, working for General Dynamics and Con-Vair for about a year. Frank soon was drawn back to his hometown of Walters, where he married his high school sweetheart, Jerrie Petty in 1958. To this union two sons and a daughter were born.

Frank worked for Cotton Electric for a short time, before he and Jerrie began farming and ranching Northeast of Walters. They also began custom wheat harvesting during the summer months. After the tragic loss of Jerrie in 1972, Frank moved his family into Walters for a few years before building a new home on their farmstead, Northeast of Walters.

Frank continued farming and ranching for several years until he met Wilma Jane Buchwald, a professor at Cameron University (CU). They married in 1988. Frank graduated in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in Business, and a minor in history. Frank and Jane relocated to Flower Mound, TX in 1993 where they were active in residential real estate. Frank’s main focus was in land subdivision development.
After retiring, Frank enjoyed traveling and was an avid volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.

Frank was preceded in death by Jerrie, his parents Tom & Lorene Kerr.

Survivors include his wife, Jane of Flower Mound, TX; sons Kyle Kerr & Steven (Alexandria, VA), Ken Kerr (Norman OK); daughter Kellie & Rich Garay (Roanoke TX); stepson David Beavers, Tina, Taylor, Brody (Lawton, OK); grandchildren Heath & Katherine Randall & great granddaughter Scarlett (Roanoke, TX); Chase & Kaylee Smith families (Walters, OK); many loving cousins, family and friends.

At Frank’s request, the family will celebrate his life at a later date.
