Veta Faye Miller

Funeral Services at Union Valley Baptist Church, Cookietown, OK on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Visitation on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 pm, with viewing on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9-8:00 pm

Veta Faye (Doty) Miller was born to Claud Clarence and Mary Belle (Stelzer) Doty on August 28, 1929 at Grandfield, OK and departed this life in Burkburnett, TX on December 1, 2025 at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Veta grew up in Devol, OK, graduating from Devol High School in 1947. She married Joe Miller on October 29, 1948 in Wichita Falls, TX and to the union 2 children were born. The family made their home northeast of Cookietown, OK, where they were engaged in farming and ranching, and also did custom harvesting for 50 years. They moved to Walters in 1984.

Veta enjoyed playing basketball in high school. She was willing and able to do anything and everything on the farm to help Joe. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing dominoes and cards with family, and playing canasta with her lady’s group. She was a great cook and loved having the family together for Sunday Dinners.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Miller; her son, Randy Miller; 2 sisters, Wanda Ruth Roberson and Eva Lou Moon; and her brother, Duane Doty.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Miller and husband Brian Seddon of Chattanooga; her daughter-in-law, Christy Miller of Wichita Falls, TX; a sister, Patricia McKinnis and Donald of Burkburnett, TX; 3 grandchildren, Errika Hathaway and Larry of Walters, Riyan Miller and Laci of Walters, Karissah Whitaker and Jordan of Burkburnett, TX; 11 great grandchildren, Austin, Kiarra, and Zakery Arbogast, Kynlea, Kason, Bodie, Brysen, and Brayden Miller, Parker, Maggie, and Eli Whitaker; other relatives and friends.
