William J. "Bill" Wise

March 6, 1930 — March 27, 2021

William Jackson Wise passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Hospital at the age of 91. A Service with Military Honors will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Asa Peace officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

William was married to Patricia E. Bradley on October 28, 1951 in Clayton, NM on his way to the Korean Conflict, serving his country honorably. To this marriage two children were born, Deborah Sue and William R. Wise.

Deborah and Bob Austin gave them 3 grandchildren, Robert Dustin, Rae Lynn and Heather Marriah. William R. and Brenda Kay Wise gave them 2 grandchildren, Hezekiah William and Sequoia Dawn.

In Bill’s life time he did construction work, worked on bridges and railroads, worked on the Glenn Canyon Dam in Arizona, and was a foreman at a horse ranch in the Western United States. Bill and Pat settled down in Temple, OK in 1978. Bill loved to garden, fish and be with his family. Later in life Bill loved to work at the Temple Food Bank or selling at various flea markets in Oklahoma and Texas.

It is noted by the citizens of Temple, OK that where you saw Bill, you saw Pat, as they were hardly apart for the last 36 years.

Bill is survived by his wife Patricia of 69 years of marriage; their children, Deborah Sue Austin and William R. Wise; 1 brother, Tommy Dean (Butch) Ferrell; 1 sister, Sue Emberton; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews, all who were his pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Andrew Wise; brothers, Raymond Wise, Clyde Ferrell, Walter Ferrell; and sisters, Patsy Ferrell and Mary Donna Rogers.

The Family asks for those attending to please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Diabetes Society.
